Laura Spaulding, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor — Psychotherapy and Clinical Supervision

I built my practice on a simple belief: that good therapy is not a transaction — it is a relationship. The people who walk through my door deserve a space that feels honest, unhurried, and genuinely safe.

I have over 16 years of experience working in diverse settings — outpatient therapy, school counseling, school mental health, and community behavioral health. That background shapes how I think about the whole person — not just the presenting problem, but the systems and relationships around them.

I keep my practice small by design because caseload size affects care quality. I collaborate closely with your other providers — psychiatrists, pediatricians, school counselors — because the best outcomes happen when everyone is aligned.

My Philosophy

Therapy should feel
like a conversation,
not a diagnosis.

01

You set the pace

Sessions are structured around what matters to you right now — not a predetermined protocol. If the plan isn’t working, we change the plan.

02

Grounded in evidence

I draw on CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed frameworks — research-backed approaches adapted to the person sitting across from me, not the textbook version.

03

Whole-life connected

I collaborate with your child’s school counselor, your primary care doctor, your psychiatrist — because the best care doesn’t happen in a silo.

FAQ

Things you might
be wondering.

All scheduled clients will receive a Good Faith Estimate for services. My practice is not contracted with insurance at this time. I use Simple Practice EHR, which provides annotated and coded superbills you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement, if your plan provides for this and at your discretion.

Fees

  • Individual session — $150
  • Groups — fees vary
  • Pre-licensed Clinical Supervision for LPC — individual and group; call for availability and fees

Virtual and in-person available; limited sliding-fee slots available.

Yes. I offer secure video sessions for clients across Pennsylvania. Many clients alternate between in-person and telehealth depending on their week.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes, available virtual or in person. Groups are ongoing and times vary — please ask about current group schedules.
The first session is really just a conversation. We’ll talk about what brought you here, what you’re hoping for, and whether we feel like a good fit. There’s no pressure, no diagnostic checklist — just two people getting to know each other. Most clients tell me they felt relieved it was easier than they expected.
